Services and Programs
St Mark’s Medical Center Diabetes Education program helps people who have diabetes, and their family members, learn to understand and cope with the disease. This program is by referral from a doctor or nurse practitioner and consists of four classes over a six-month period. This includes a one-on-one session with the nurse and a class with a registered dietician. Each month, there are four support groups in various cities. Different diabetes education topics are presented and questions are answered. Participation is encouraged from the clients, which adds to the discussion and learning. There is no admission charge to attend the meetings. The Diabetes Education program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association. Most insurances and Medicare are accepted. For more information, please contact the St. Mark’s Medical Center Diabetes Education team at 979-968-3483.
